(I-AutoNewsWire.com, September 29, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA - It would be no surprise if the car were never to be recovered, as often such cars are easy to resell, or used for parts. However, this particular Corvette was found by dockworkers in Brisbane in a shipping container that was never accounted for.
Workers opened the container and found the missing Convertible, complete with since flattened tires.
The owner of the vehicle had long since given up on the car, receiving compensation through his insurance provider. Suncorp Insurance will now be auctioning off the car to reduce its loss.
The Corvette is a C3, which should help its resale value. The car will need some work, given it has be dormant for a decade, but it can still be considered a prized possession for particular collectors.
Manheim Auctions expect the car to fetch $14,000-17,000 AUD. It will be on sale September 25.
